About the role

The Camp Boss is the standard. You run the catering unit on a live offshore asset — a galley team of cooks, bakers, stewards and utility hands feeding a crew that has no alternative if the service slips. You hold the HACCP discipline when the sea state makes it inconvenient, you keep the stores honest against a call-off schedule set weeks earlier, and you are the person the OIM speaks to about food.

You will be mobilised from our Miri shore base to platforms and accommodation units across Sarawak waters, on scopes ranging from a 20-berth wellhead platform to a 450-berth barge.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Leading the offshore catering team across all shifts, including night provision and crew-change days.
  • Executing the 28-day cycle menu to specification, adapting for crew nationality, dietary and medical requirements.
  • Maintaining HACCP records — temperature logs, goods-in inspection, cooling and reheating verification — to audit standard.
  • Controlling stores and cold rooms on FIFO rotation, and raising accurate requisitions against the provisioning schedule.
  • Supervising mess, cabin, laundry and pantry housekeeping to the client’s platform standard.
  • Acting as the catering interface with the OIM, client representatives and visiting food safety auditors.

What you’ll need

  • Minimum five years in offshore or remote-site catering, with at least two in a supervisory or Camp Boss position.
  • Demonstrated HACCP competence and a current food handler certification.
  • Valid BOSIET/HUET and an in-date offshore medical (or the willingness to obtain both — we fund them).
  • Working English, and the ability to write a legible daily report and a clean stock record.
  • Composure. The galley is the one part of the platform everybody visits three times a day.

  • Offshore Medical — required
  • Food Handler — required
  • HACCP Level 3 — required
